Power users are reminded that the shipyard cannot accept responsibility for power outages, low voltage or possible power spikes caused by the government power company. While these occurrences are rare, yacht owners should use appropriate protective measures on board.

Administration Fees, Taxes:
Foreign flag vessels are exempted from paying the 12 per cent Honduras government tax, any customs duty on goods or services purchased in or through the shipyard. All vessels of Honduras registry must pay the tax and duty. A 2% of invoice value for security, environmental compliance and free zone administration fee is added to all invoices.

DATE OF HAUL or REPAIR:___________________________________________
1. – The Vessel (_____________________________) is hauled, stored and moved at the owner’s risk. Owner or Captain must direct placement of lifting slings and agree to their placement. No liability is accepted for interior bulkhead movement, or damage to the vessel while hauling vessel and blocking it in position.
2. – No outside competitive labor is permitted in the shipyard. Only approved licensed contractors are permitted to work on La Ceiba Shipyard property, including vessels moored at shipyard docks.
3. – Do-It-yourself work is permitted with specific yard approval only. Approval must be given prior to the commencement of any work on a vessel. Do it yourself work is totally at owner’s risk. The yard reserves the right to halt any work that can possible be a safety risk or hazard of any type.
4. – In the event the shipyard is unable to provide a specialized service or function, approval may be given to special contractors to operate temporarily in the shipyard. Only Contractors with current licenses for their particular specialty will be permitted. The owner will be charged a fee for each worker working on his vessel.
5. – In all instances, the shipyard reserves the right to provide all required labor and service to all vessels in the shipyard. Shipyard management must approve exceptions to this in advance. All services provided by the La Ceiba Shipyard are warranted. At no time shall the liability of the shipyard exceed the amount of its repair invoice to the specified vessel. Individual contracts between the vessel owner and authorized contractors are NOT warranted by the La Ceiba Shipyard. All materials used by Authorized Contractors must be purchased from the shipyard .
6. – All supplies associated with vessel repairs in the shipyard must be purchased through the shipyard chandlery. In the event the shipyard cannot provide a specialized item; shipyard management may grant an exemption.
7. -Only products and services purchased through the shipyard qualify for DUTY FREE and TAX FREE status.
8. – No paint spraying or sandblasting is permitted except by approved licensed contractors.
9. – Vehicles may be permitted in the shipyard temporarily only for loading or unloading. Vehicles must observe a 10kph speed limit. Vehicles enter the shipyard at their owner’s risk. The La Ceiba Shipyard accepts no responsibility for any vehicle damage.
10. – Areas around vessels must be kept clean. Garbage cans are provided and emptied regularly. Vessel scrap materials associated with repairs will be removed at the owners’ expense.
11. – Only designated yard personnel are permitted to move blocking, shoring or other hull supports.
12. – All charges associated with lift/launch are payable at the time the vessel is hauled. Invoices must be settled prior to vessel launching or leaving the shipyard. Payments are accepted in cash, approved checks on local banks or with VISA, MasterCard or American Express Credit Cards.
13. – Deposits are required for labor and materials needed for additional vessel work. A minimum deposit of 50% is required at the signing of a work order or the commencement of work on all shipyard projects. In the event of long-term projects, a progressive payment schedule will be developed and agreed upon.
14. – The La Ceiba Shipyard makes every effort to make sure our clients vessels are safe and secure. We provide 24 hours security by contracted armed security services. We have well lighted storage areas and docks. We are a free zone so there by have a closed shipyard to all but those persons having business with the shipyard or boat owner clients, captains and crews. Our Security Service is required to make their rounds hourly and log into our new security system. Occasionally, but very seldom, there is an unexplained loss to one of our clients vessels. We can not accept responsibility for any lost of stolen personal property or electronics, unless secured in our Customs Container. Removing valuable items from the vessel takes any incentive away for otherwise poor and honest people. Owners are encouraged to avail themselves of this service. An owner or Captain must take prudent measures to safeguard their property as at any marina or shipyard.
15. – It is agreed that any vessel abandoned at the La Ceiba Shipyard for more than 12 months with out contacting Shipyard Management and paying dockage or storage fees become the property of the shipyard. The shipyard is authorized to sell these vessels at auction and recover money owed to the shipyard.
16. Owners or Captains must deliver to the shipyard their Original Vessel registration and a Copy of their passport upon initially registering at the shipyard
- This agreement is subject to the laws of Honduras. Any disputes will be adjudicated in Honduran Courts.
